- Parking
- We have free parking at the main site of Workout Bristol as well as around our exercise studios on Baynton Rd.
- Inductions
- When you join with us, you are invited to have an induction free of charge. Our gym inductions are designed to provide you with essential health and safety knowledge and a basic understanding of both the cardio and resistance equipment available. (However, you can opt out of this if you wish)
- What is a programme?
- It's personal training without the regular expense. A 1hr session working out the best options and best workouts for your goals. Expert knowledge in all fields from losing weight to bodybuilding, beach body, wedding body perhaps or injury recovery. Whatever your aspirations they can be achieved. (The cost of this programme is £20)
- What's the Annual Development Fee for?
- We have asked that all members pay an Annual Development Fee of £15.00, all of the money raised is invested straight back into the club. Examples of purchases we have made with the development fee in the past include gym equipment upgrades, sauna & steam room, new spin bikes and more.
- Cancellation Policy
- There are no contracts at Workout Bristol so this means that you can cancel and restart your membership with us as you see fit with absolutely no hassle.
- I am not getting results can you help?
- Yes with affordable personal training! As well as the exercise programmes that we mentioned above, we also have in house personal training staff for more 1-1 in depth and on going professional support. If you are interested in personal training you can either speak to us at reception or email us - ashton@workoutbristol.co.uk
- Do I have to book a space for classes?
- Yes, you will book your classes through the members section of the website 48hrs in advance.
- What Classes do you offer?
- We offer a range of classes, from relaxing yoga to extreme body conditioning and everything in between. You can check them out in the classes tab of this website.
- Are the classes free with my membership?
- Yes
- I'm not a Member. Can I come to classes?
- Non-members can take part in classes at a cost of £7.50 per class. If you are not a member but want to book a class, you just need to create a free online account on our website and purchase classes from there. Payment is taken via the website.
- How many classes can I attend per week?
- The amount of classes you can attend per week is unlimited!
- How often does the timetable change?
- We are constantly reviewing our timetable and taking feedback form our members. We try to change our full time table every 6/12 months.
Harbourside
- How long is the membership contract?
- There is no contract with our memberships. Our memberships are simply on a monthly rolling basis.
- Can I freeze my membership?
- Members can freeze their memberships for 1-3 months for £5 per month, this fee will replace their monthly membership fee. We require a month notice for requests to freeze memberships.
- How do I cancel my membership?
- You can cancel your membership by email at info@workoutharbourside.co.uk. We require one month notice for cancellations.
- Can non-members use the facilities?
- Yes, we offer a PAYG membership whereby you can sign up and pay for each individual session. Squash courts and classes will need to be pre-booked through our website but gym sessions can be arranged upon arrival.
- Do you have personal trainers?
- We have personal trainers within the club. All our personal trainers are self-employed. You can contact them directly to find out about prices and availability etc.
- Do you offer squash coaching?
- Elite Squash operates within our club. They offer a wide range of coaching for all levels, including children, beginners and even professional. To enquire, please contact john@elitesquash.com.
- How do I cancel my class booking?
- Classes can be cancelled through your members account, the same way in which you book. The button to book will simply change to allow you to cancel.
- How do I cancel my squash court booking?
- Squash bookings can be cancelled through your online account. Simply go to the members section and click ‘book courts’ and at the bottom. This will display your booked courts along with the option to cancel.
- How far in advance can I book classes and squash courts?
- Squash bookings can be made 7 days in advance. Classes can be booked 48 hours in advance.
- Do you provide squash rackets and balls?
- Yes, we have plenty of squash rackets and balls available to borrow at reception. We also have a selection of balls available to buy.
- Do you have squash social nights?
- We have club nights which are available to members and non-members. These run on Fridays at 18:30-20:30 and Sundays at 16:00-18:00. The social nights are £2 for members and £5 for non-members.
- Do you provide yoga mats?
- Yes, we have yoga mats available to use at the club. However, they are limited so we do suggest bringing you own if possible.
- Do you have lockers?
- We have lockers available within the changing rooms. You will simply need to bring a padlock to lock them. If you do not own a padlock, they can be purchased from reception for £2.80. We also have permanent lockers available to hire for £10 per month.
- Can I upgrade/downgrade my membership?
- You can upgrade/downgrade your account at any point. Simply contact our reception team to arrange this.
- Can I try out the gym before joining?
- We do not offer free trials. However, you can trail the gym for the day by purchasing a guest pass for £7.50. If you decide to join the gym, within two weeks of purchasing the guest pass, we will give you a refund once your first months payment clears.
- What if I do not turn up to a booked class/squash session?
- Non attendees will be fined £2. This also applies to sessions cancelled within the 90-minute cancellation period. Your account will be deactivated until this has been resolved.
- Can I look around the club before signing up?
- Of course! If you would like to have a tour of the club, simply pop down at any time and a member of staff will be more than happy to show you around.
- If I sign up today, when can I start?
- If you were to sign up today, you can access the gym right away. You will simply need to collect your swipe card and have a photo taken at reception to complete your membership set up.
- Why is my initial payment different to the monthly membership fee?
- Your initial payment will include a joining or re-joining fee (depending if you have previously been a member), it will also include a pro-rated payment for your first month. Your payment will be taken on the first working day of the month. If you join part way through the month, the payment system will calculate the pro-rated fee depending on how many days are left within the current month.
- How do I change my payment details?
- To change your bank details, simply pop into the club and complete a direct debit form or send us an email and we can send you a link to do this online.
- Are there any other charges?
- Members will initially pay a joining fee of £15 (or £7.50 if you have previously been a member). Each member, other than MoveGB and PAYG, will also pay an Annual Development Fee of £15 on the first working day in June each year.
- What is the minimum age for using the facilities?
- All members must be above 16 years of age. However, we do also offer a restricted ‘Parental Supervised’ membership for 14- and 15-year olds. Please speak to our reception team for more information on this.
- Do you offer student discounts?
- Unfortunately not. We did previously offer student discounted rates, however we then decided to reduce all membership prices which made our current prices cheaper than the student rate.
- Do I need to have an induction before using the gym?
- Not necessarily, inductions are for members who do not feel confident using our equipment and would like help. If you do not want an induction you can opt out.
- Do members of the gym receive a discount in the café/bar?
- Yes! We now offer a 15% discount on food and drinks in our café/bar. Although alcohol, protein products, and promotional offers are not included. This discount is only offered to monthly members, not MoveGB or PAYG.
- Is there a member of staff always on site?
- Yes, we have a full-time reception team which are always around to help.
- How do I book in with the physiotherapists?
- If you would like to enquire about our physiotherapists, please call 0117 973 8319.
- Is Workout Bristol a chain?
- No, we are proud to be an independent family run business. We only have our Harbourside site located in the centre of Bristol and our Ashton site located at the bottom of North Street.
- Do you have parking?
- Unfortunately, we do not have designated parking for members. However, there is on street parking outside the club.
